4-H Volunteers

Volunteers

Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Adair County 4-H program.  There are a variety of short- and long-term volunteer positions available.  Leaders work directly with youth as club leaders, project leaders and camp counselors.  These can be short or long term time commitments.
Volunteers can also contribute to the development of Adair County 4-H members by serving in other ways.  They can serve on an activity committee, such as communications day, special events or the Adair County Fair.  They can serve as a judge for a 4-H event to help evaluate the project work of a 4-H’er.  They could also serve on a development committee such as marketing, recruitment, fundraising or expansion and review or on the adult 4-H council that meets five times a year. Descriptions of these and other volunteer positions with specific details of the time commitment and exact responsibilities are available by contacting the Adair County Extension Service at 270-384-2317 or by e-mailing Tony Rose at trose@uky.edu

All persons wishing to serve as a volunteer for the Adair County 4-H program must complete a volunteer application that includes permission for a background check and reference check.  Their application must be approved by the Youth Protection/Risk Management Committee.
