State Fair Ham Speech Day
Event Description
Speeches this year will be in the same location as they were last year. This is where things begin to change. Thursday – August 14, 2025 (first day of the Fair) the Adair County Ham participants will check in starting at 11:00 am EDT/10:00 a.m. CT in the far end of the South Wing, on the second floor.
Speeches will be given in a grand ballroom divided into 25 separate 10’x10’ rooms. A second grand ballroom will serve as a holding area for those waiting to give their speech. Remember, you are not going to Cloverville. I will send a letter to the school excusing you for this day. If something happens and you get counted absent, please let me know.
The awards ceremony will be held in the same room as the holding room for the speech in the South Wing this year, around 5:00 pm ET. I will bring back your hams from the State Fair. Someone will need to come to the Extension Office on Friday, August 15, to pick up your ham. If you have any questions, feel free to call me.
